Dark Shadow

My role in Dark Shadow was primarily AI and systems Design. Before development, I spent much of my time drafting and delegating tasks ensuring everyone worked on what they were comfortable with and filling in most of the game design document. My duties included the following:

  • Ensure player movement was clean with animations and utilized proper feedback​​​​

  • Program all necessary camera movements related to wall leaning.

  • Scripting AI for combat and all states in between

  • Ensure that the level design flowed appropriately for AI engagements

  • Program AI to respond to sight and sound as the player would expect

    • Sight in this game was the biggest challenge due to all the different types of concealment the player had access to. ​

  • Design, implement, and test all environment/sound traps

  • Aid in adding ambient sound, music, and sound effects

  • Originate the checkpoint system so that the player's progress is saved.
